nice heavy duty stroller
by Brian in Honolulu 2007-05-05
this is a bigger stroller --- so you need a little extra space for ease of putting it away (fits nicely in the back of a SUV)
but very nice solid stroller (capable of a little bit of off-roading, despite plastic wheels) --- doesn't tip easy --- nice solid seat adjustment to make a sturdy home for your baby when you are out and about
I would recommend it --- got the black one for $129

Great Stroller
by MLW 2007-03-28
Just to note, I have the 2006 Waltz (pictured here).
When I first unfolded the stroller and pushed it around the living room, I was a bit surprised at its size. It was a bit larger than thought it was going to be. Quite a few of the reviews that I had read described the Waltz as an "umbrella stroller," so you can imagine I was expecting something much smaller. After my initial disapointment wore off, I began noticing the finer points of the Waltz.
Pros:
My daughter loves riding in this stroller. She is a year old and is very comfortable in it. She falls asleep without a problem, and the large canopy really helps to keep the distractions out.
I love the HUGE window on the canopy too. I can see her clearly.
The recline mechanism is a breeze to operate, but I can't help but think that I sometimes miss a position or two in my haste. I will have to look at the position stops as I lower the seat to be sure I'm getting them all.
The adjustable leg rest is great for Teagan as her legs are still so short. I think she would be uncomfortable with her legs dangling at an odd angle right now.
I haven't had to use it because Teagan was older when I bought the Waltz, but I like that you can zip up the leg rest to create a bassinet for smaller babies.
You can take the seat cushion off and machine wash it!! How great is that??
This stroller looks amazing. I love pushing it around.
Cons
The handle is not adjustable and it would be really nice if it were.
For the first few months, I struggled to push the Waltz around even the slickest floors. It just did not maneuver well (and this was after pushing my Graco infant car seat frame around which steers like a DREAM). Hubby sprayed some W-D 40 on the wheels and it steers much better now. Still not great, but I did read somewhere that we should use a silicone based spray, not WD40, so we will try that and see what happens. Before the treatment, it was seriously like pushing a tank.
I also don't like how the Waltz folds up. It folds flat and leaves the entire seat area exposed. I am afraid to take my Waltz to the airport becuase I think that even in a travel bag, the seat could get ripped to bits in the belly of a plane.
Anyway, after a few months of use, I no longer think of my Waltz as a big tank of a stroller. It is a nice, mid-sized stroller that has some issues. I think the good far outweigh the bad, however, and I brag everyday about my Waltz. Love it!
