Jumperoo is better
by Tera Ulbert 2008-11-17
My son has this and two jumperoos. He prefers to be in his jumperoo 5 times longer and more frequent than the exersaucer. He does love the exersaucer though. I would give it 5 stars but if you are looking to only buy one item...buy a jumperoo. My son did not like or use the first stage. It was also really hard to put together. My son is also not too tall for his age, but he seems to be always standing slanted because even at the highest setting, he is too tall. He is only in the 50th percentile for an 8 month old. Buy the rain forest jumperoo. It will save your life! It has given me time to relax and watch my son have fun. :-)

A tremendous pain to assemble, but worth it
by Simbolina 2008-10-29
Of all the items we've assembled for our daughter, this was by far the most time consuming and most challenging. It requires you to screw together most of the pieces and the diagrams are confusing. I got it at my baby shower and assembled a little bit every week so that it was done by the time she was 5 months old and ready to use it :-) The stage 1 mat and bar with toys isn't very good. The toys are too hard for a newborn to pull in order to activate the music. But the stage 2 exersaucer is excellent. My daughter loves to sit in it and actually entertained herself practically on her own for 45 minutes - she literally cried when I tried to take her out. The stages are engaging, and I sometimes add other toys to the tray for variety. I haven't reached stage 3 yet, but even if she never uses that, stage 2 makes this worthwhile.
I didn't give it 5 stars because of how hard it was to assemble, but this and her Rainforest Jumperoo are by far her favorite toys. (She loves the Jumperoo because she can jump in it, but the ExerSaucer keeps her entertained longer due to the variety of little play stations).
